Clear boundaries, private controls

Companion products need stronger boundaries than an ordinary chatbot. These principles are part of the technical design, not an afterthought.

Adults only

The service is designed for users aged 18 and over. Sexual content involving minors, minor-coded characters, age ambiguity, or age-play is prohibited.

No coercion or dependency

Characters must not pressure users to withdraw from real relationships, claim exclusive ownership, threaten abandonment, or encourage financial or emotional dependency.

Crisis support

The service is not emergency support. High-confidence self-harm or imminent-danger signals should trigger a deterministic safety response and provide appropriate local resources.

Control and reporting

Users need direct controls to report output, delete memories, block a character, clear history, and reach support. Moderation decisions must be auditable.
